Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Many therapists at Transitions Counseling Services, Inc., hold a certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or are currently seeking the post graduate certification. CBT is a very effective type of therapy that is designed to treat a number of depressive disorders, anxiety issues and other mood-related disorders. We target the unhealthy patterns of thought and recognize how they impact self-destructive behaviors and negative feelings that affect our clients.

We seek to use CBT to make improvements for the individual and their relationships, as well. Our team helps our clients to develop new and constructive ways of thinking that can help to create a healthier approach to behaviors and beliefs. We embrace the basic principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, including the use of active and collaborative participation, education, as well as goal-oriented and solution-focused therapy.
