Elizabeth Craig, MSW Candidate December 2023 & Administrative Support Staff

I am a current graduate student in the Master of Social Work program at Boston University (graduating December 2023). I currently facilitate our Emotion Explorers and Middle School Groups. I am also accepting new clients for individual counseling. I enjoy working with many age groups and have worked with children as young as 6 and up to 19. I also am happy to work with parents navigating early childhood and school challenges. Diagnoses that are a particular passion for me are ADHD, dyslexia and other learning disorders, anxiety and depression.
My clinical background is in youth and family services as well as a high school setting. I have been able to work with individuals and groups in both schools and family agencies. Group topics I typically cover are social skills, emotional regulation, executive functioning and anxiety and empowerment. I find building coping skills and self advocacy to be important to work on in a safe setting. I have also learned about the inner workings of school systems and how mental health fits in this context. I have had the opportunity to support families navigating school systems as they seek support for their children as well as personal experience advocating for my own family. Bridging the gap between school and mental health holds a special place in my social work practice.
In both my groups and individual work I enjoy using a blend of approaches to best fit each client. I often utilize CBT, Narrative therapy, and mindfulness to name a few. I also use a strengths based approach in my practice. I enjoy seeing the strengths and challenges that come with each age of development and aim to support my clients and their families as they navigate these life stages. I am currently offering appointments in our Norfolk office and look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
