Jesse Bernard, LICSW

Virtual

Children, Adolescents, Adults Age Group:

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience working with children, adolescents and families. I specialize in children and adolescents struggling with anxiety and behaviors that result in maladaptive coping strategies. I fully believe that children and adolescents need to be ready to learn and their social emotional well-being is my first and foremost priority.

In my role as a full time School Adjustment Counselor for the past eighteen years, I use a variety of techniques that include Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Behavior Modification.  I work diligently with families to help children and adolescents take responsibility for their own emotional well being and choices they make.  I use a reality based approach and enjoy helping families and children see the process and outcomes of their own perseverance and hard work.  I believe in order for the therapeutic process to be effective, clients should set their own goals and be very much a part of the treatment plan. I have previously worked with children and adolescents in a Residential setting and worked with at-risk adolescents who were DCF involved.  I believe in collaborating with all stakeholders and working together as a team to make effective progress.

I received my Masters Degree at Boston University and my Undergraduate Degree at Framingham State University.  I currently hold a LICSW and am certified by the state of Massachusetts as a School Adjustment Counselor.  One accomplishment I am particularly proud of is completing the Boston Marathon in 2017.  While I don’t consider this a professional accomplishment, I feel that the grit, determination and perseverance that this took is what guides me in my passion for helping others.

I am 100% virtual and conduct telehealth appointments during after school and early evening hours.
