“If a tree falls in the forest and no-one is around to hear it, it does make a sound and then that sound is gone”-Neil Hilborn—This is Not the End
I believe in the power of making noise; moreover, I believe in the power of having a voice. Through a critical race and feminist theory lens, I work with individuals to provide a brave space for you to trust your own voice again and return to being embodied. There are many challenges those living in marginalized bodies face in the wake of oppression, therefore, social justice is rooted at the center of my work with individuals. I got my Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing and went onto get my Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in individuals, groups, and families. I have over 5 years experience working in residential settings as well as outpatient levels of care for those struggling with disordered eating and co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, OCD, and trauma. I am passionate about working with people to heal their relationship with food and body through an eclectic blend of relational, narrative, acceptance and commitment, grief, and somatic therapies. My background in creative writing lends to working with people of all genders and ages in being able to tell their stories without assumption or judgment. I like to bring client’s special interests into the room and use them as a tool to allow healing to unfold in individualized ways. My dream job is to be the host of Family Feud though I feel equally passionate about holding space for my clients to process their own reality and discord.
