Salma Ali, MS

Children, Adolescents, Adults Age Group:
With a Master’s degree in Counseling, I specialize in working with individuals across the lifespan, from young children to adults. My approach is holistic, addressing a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, ADHD, life transitions, and trauma.
For children and adolescents, I employ play therapy techniques to create a safe and nurturing environment where they can express themselves freely. Through play, they learn to process emotions, develop coping skills, and build self-esteem.
For teens and adults, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to challenge negative thought patterns, manage distressing emotions, and promote positive behavioral changes. These evidence-based techniques empower individuals to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and confidence.
Central to my practice is a person-centered approach with a creative and conversational style, which means I prioritize your unique experiences, values, and goals in our therapeutic journey. I believe in fostering a collaborative and non-judgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and supported every step of the way.
I’m offering appointments Monday through Friday, both virtually and in person at our Norfolk office.
I also facilitate our Emotion Explorers Group for elementary aged children. Please click here to learn more about the group and register today!
