In School Counseling
For some students, the most meaningful support is the kind that meets them right where they spend their days. Through our In School Counseling program, Transitions Counseling Services partners with local school districts to bring professional, compassionate counseling directly into the school setting. By providing services during the school day we help students access care while reducing common barriers like travel, time out of work for parents, navigating sports and after school/work scheduled and long waitlists.
We work with students from elementary through high school, meeting them in a familiar and comfortable environment within their own school. Our clinicians collaborate closely with school counselors and staff while keeping families at the center of the work, offering parent coaching, family sessions, and wrap around support that connects what happens at school with life at home.
Our In School Counseling services support students experiencing a range of concerns, including:
- anxiety and depression
- ADHD and difficulties with focus or organization
- grief and loss
- friendship, social, and peer challenges
- big feelings and behavioral concerns
- adjustment to family or life changes
- school avoidance
- building confidence, coping skills, and resilience
Research continues to show that when students' emotional needs are met, their ability to learn, focus and attend school improves right alongside their wellbeing. That is the heart of this work, and it is why we are proud to support emotional wellness for academic success.
