Children, Adolescents, Adults Age Group:

Welcome! I am a Licensed Adjustment Counselor/School Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting the mental health of children, teens and families. I have extensive experience supporting children and adolescents as they cope with challenges such as anxiety, grief, and relationships. I have a particular interest in women’s mental health – especially supporting mothers as they navigate shifts in identity, life transitions, and the emotional complexities of motherhood. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment where clients feel heard and empowered to develop healthy coping strategies, build confidence, and strengthen their relationships with others.

My approach is person-centered and strengths-based, and I draw from various models including CBT, ACT, and Interpersonal Therapy. With children, I find great benefits exploring feelings through play. I see my role as a partner in a client’s healing: believing that people have an innate capacity for growth, self-understanding, and change when they experience a relationship that feels safe, accepting, and genuine.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and a Master’s in Developmental and Educational Psychology from Boston College. I have also received additional training in individual and group therapy from Harvard University as well as The College of New Jersey. I am originally from Panama and am bilingual and bicultural and therefore bring deep cultural sensitivity and understanding to my work.

I am part of Transitions’ Norfolk office and am currently holding virtual and in-person sessions.
