My name is Annette Scanlon, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker practicing for over 35 years. I work with Transitions Counseling Services providing telehealth treatment to young adults, adults and older adults. I have worked in a variety of settings and had the pleasure of meeting many different individuals.  Primarily my work has been in the medical setting – hospitals, hospice, nursing homes, community and yes, I worked as a veterinary social worker at Angell Animal Medical Center providing comprehensive education and support around grief and loss!  I have an extensive therapeutic understanding and expertise of chronic illness, grief and loss and adjusting to life changes. I value the uniqueness of you as a person and the importance of your journey! The common thread through all my work is my commitment to doing the best I can to create a trusting and therapeutic experience. I believe that each of us is very different and so what we need to find our better self is different.  I will support you on your journey and help guide you to achieve your treatment goals. We will focus on ways to understand your feelings, thoughts and experiences through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy skills. I believe in a kind and empathic environment that fosters respect and change. Through strengths based interventions and a person centered approach we will work together on accomplishing your goals, so plan on being present for each session, working on developing new skills and a better understanding of your feelings, thoughts and impact on your behaviors!  Education: Northeastern University, Bachelors in Human Services 1978, Lesley University, Masters in Health Care Management 1998, Bridgewater State University, Masters in Social Work 2006 I provide evening and weekend appointment times through telehealth services.
