Elizabeth Nelson, LCSW

Children, Adolescents, Adults Age Group:
Hi, I’m Elizabeth (she/her)! With a warm heart and an open mind, I am here to guide and support you through your journey towards emotional well-being. I prioritize creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can be your authentic self, and I celebrate the diversity of experiences that make you who you are. With a touch of humor and a deep respect for your individuality, I will work alongside you to navigate the challenges you’re facing. Your comfort and well-being are of utmost importance, and I welcome your feedback throughout our time together, as your insights play a vital role in shaping our therapeutic collaboration. I believe that healing is a personal and transformative process, and I am honored to walk alongside you every step of the way.
I am dedicated to providing a safe and affirming space for individuals coming from all walks of life. I specialize in supporting those struggling with PTSD and trauma-related symptoms, anxiety, depression, body image concerns, and LGBTQ+-related stressors. I work with children, adolescents, and adults.
I am certified in Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) and ARC Grow therapy, and am a Certified Shame-Informed Treatment Specialist. I have also received comprehensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I like to draw from a variety of therapeutic models to tailor our work to best meet your needs.
I have experience providing comprehensive care in a variety of environments, including residential programs, school, hospital, and outpatient settings, and spent many years as a Victim Advocate supporting survivors of crime. I currently hold a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Rutgers University. I am offering appointments Monday through Friday virtually and in person in our Franklin office.
Transitions is proud to have Associate Clinicians who are Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) working with a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) under close supervision while they are working towards their own independent licensure. Elizabeth has a designated Clinical Supervisor, Lauren Becker LICSW, collaborating on your care.
