Gary Dauer, LICSW

Franklin

Adults Age Group:

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over fifty years of experience assisting individuals find their strength to live a healthier, more fulfilled quality of life. For much of that time, those efforts were with the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. It has also been with Catholic Charities, the Veterans Administration, and most recently as a Franklin based outpatient clinician. My passion is helping adults, particularly those over age 55, who are having difficulty with depression and anxiety, marital and family concerns, retirement, grief and loss, as well as worry about their health and finances. The challenges that occur during life transitions can bring difficulty, anxiety and loss. However, when one successfully navigates those times, they present the opportunity to bring the greatest satisfactions. I create a safe place to explore both life’s pleasures and hurdles.  I believe that an empathic counseling relationship in which your worth is recognized and validated, where your strengths are emphasized and resiliencies explored, can lead you to a greater enjoyment of your life and more fulfilling relationships.  I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston College and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts, as well as study with the Kantor Family Institute. I also have blogged on the process and challenges of retirement.

I offer in person appointments on Mondays and Tuesdays in our Franklin office. I look forward to working with you!
