Lauren Becker, LICSW
“Mental strength is not the ability to stay out of the darkness; it’s the ability to sit present in the darkness knowing that the light will shine again”
As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker at Transitions Counseling, my goal is to create a collaborative relationship that provides compassion, support, transparency, guidance and a sense of humor.
I specialize in treatment of children, adolescents, adults and families, with a particular interest in working with young women during transitional times. I also have experience working with autism, anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, eating disorders, family issues, relationship issues, and military and first responder families. I also have extensive experience helping clients navigate academic issues including IEP’s, behavior management plans, and social emotional needs.
I provide an individualized therapeutic approach that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Motivational Interviewing, Strength Based Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I received my BS in Human Services, with a minor in Psychology, from Endicott College and my Masters in Social Work from the University of New England. When I am not working, I enjoy staying active and spending time with my husband, daughter, son and two dogs.
I am currently offering Telehealth sessions during the week in the morning and afternoon.
