Rachel Del Vecchio, LCSW
Adults Age Group:
I believe in the power of a collaborative therapeutic relationship and genuinely value the importance of building rapport with my clients. As a warm and compassionate therapist, I hold all individuals in unconditional positive regard and work to create a safe space to foster growth and change. I believe in the inherent resilience of the human spirit and embrace a strength-based, holistic approach that promotes the practice of mindfulness and gratitude, the value of human connection, and the importance of finding meaning in one’s life for the benefit of your overall health and well-being.
I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, and adults who are having difficulties with stress, anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, grief and loss, mood disorders, trauma, substance use, and eating disorders. In my practice, I utilize various methodologies to promote client empowerment and psychological growth and flexibility including motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT, ACT, solution focused, and person-centered therapy.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from St. Anselm College and a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston University. I have experience collaborating with professionals on multidisciplinary teams in a variety of settings and working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. These settings include the public school system where I worked as a Behavior Therapist for children ages 3-13 with social/emotional challenges and ADHD and an outpatient behavioral health agency where I worked as an Outpatient Counselor treating adults, individually and in groups, with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. In my free time, I enjoy being with my family, reading, traveling, and spending time by the ocean whenever possible.
I am offering in-person and virtual appointments at our Norfolk office Monday through Friday.
