Zachary Gross, LMHC
Children, Adolescents, Adults Age Group:
I am a Licensed Mental Health clinician with 9 years of experience working in the mental health field! In light of my specialties, I work primarily with children and adolescents ages 5-17 years old. My goal with each of my clients is to help build a safe and supportive environment to identify and process the more difficult to feel emotions. I believe that building a child’s ability to express themselves and to be heard by those around them is a collective endeavor, and I look forward to helping those take those first steps.
I am certified in the treatment of trauma in children and adolescents, and have experience working as a Community Crisis Stabilization Supervisor, Outpatient Therapist and School-Based Outpatient Therapist. I have a Masters Degree in Counseling from Westfield State University where I was also a Division 3 Cross Country and Track Athlete in my undergraduate years. These sports have influenced me greatly in how I view how to identify struggles, concerns and difficult situations with my clients. I am also highly influenced by therapy modalities such as Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy.
My role at Transitions is primarily focused in school based services, however I do offer limited in person appointments out of our Norfolk office, as well as Telehealth appointments.
